it’s friday; i’m in love – architectural details

So much of beauty is in the details, isn’t it?

I was in Chicago at the end of July, and I absolutely adored the gorgeous doors of this building adjacent to my hotel.  I find the attention to detail in old buildings to be very inspiring.

And speaking of details, everyone knows that Ralph Lauren is a master.  RL is the restaurant located adjacent to Chicago’s Ralph Lauren flagship.  Photos aren’t allowed (hello, how am I supposed to share the fabulousness with my blogger friends?!?), but add that to your list of places the next time you find yourself in Chicago.

    so agree, it's all in the details. I order those quatrafoil knobs you posted a while back -- two of them for our console. Love at first sight. And just ordered two more knobs from Anthropologie for nightstands. Those are the kinds of details that I so enjoy researching and adding to our home.

    It does seem like I've been on the go a lot, doesn't it? Fortunately, my trips are usually quick jaunts - so, trust me, my boys get plenty of mommy time! I actually don't even have full-time child care. That being said, the African proverb is true - it does take a village to raise a child! My husband does his fair share, and I've got a super babysitter who fills in the gaps - especially during the summer when preschool is out. I'm also lucky to have family in town. Thanks for reading and taking the time to comment!

    Ohh RL is the best. My cousin lived in Chicago and I went to visit her several years ago and we ate at RL. It was amazing. You are so right about it not feeling like a restaurant. I was so inspired by the interiors. Amazing!
