Have you heard of the International Textile Market Association? Unless you are “in the biz,” I’m guessing the answer is a big fat NO.
Well, that is about to change — because I am headed to Showtime, High Point’s semi-annual fabric market … and I cannot wait to share the scoop. I am joining the most incredible team of bloggers — Tamara Matthews-Stephenson, Marisa Marcantonio, Ronda Carmon and those dashing Madcap Cottage boys — and we are going to bring you along with us via blog, Twitter, Instagram and any other form of social media invented between now and then!
Fabulousness like this? It has to start somewhere — and that “somewhere” is often the fabric. The Copley Chair by CR Laine is already a great modern wingback, but how groovy is it in their Carrara Mineral? Marbleicious!
But how do furniture manufacturers find those fabrics? Showtime! This is the only show in the United States where buyers — not only furniture and other home furnishings manufacturers, but also department stores, fabric retailers, and so many more — get to see new collections from fabric powerhouses such as Kravet, Lee Jofa, Brunschwig & Fils, Robert Allen, Sunbrella and Duralee AND from the mills that supply these companies such as Valdese Weavers, Sunbury, Circa, and many others.
In other words — what an advantage I’ll have! It’s only December, and I will see the fabrics that spark the furniture trends in April. This is the best kind of co-dependent relationship. Sign me up for Fabrics Anonymous, because I’m already hooked.
Any bets on how long before my husband tunes out my excited ramblings?
