how i’ve grown as a twin “mompreneur”

It wouldn’t be a new year, filled with new goals, new hopes and new dreams, if I didn’t give credit to those who have supported me along the way!  It’s been a fantastic few years for Traci Zeller Designs, and I am so grateful for all of the growth I’ve experienced.

My journey, if you will, began when I ventured to Vancouver for Maria Killam‘s True Colour Expert workshop.  My twinks had just turned three years old, and my service as president of the Charlotte (North Carolina) Mothers of Multiples (a 600+ member support group for families, and expectant families, of multiple-birth children) was drawing to a close.  In other words, there was a light at the end of the tunnel!

In all seriousness, I am truly grateful for every minute of that time — and I will never stop supporting other families of multiples — but I recognized that a new phase — one with more time for myself and more time for my design business — was close to beginning.  Actually, it wasn’t the end of the tunnel, but rather the start of my next adventure … enriching families with beautiful and functional interior design.  Maria’s class was incredible and inspired me to keep seeking out more opportunities to learn as I made this transition.

The following year, I enrolled in Tobi Fairley‘s Mastermind coaching program.  Having seen Tobi speak at High Point and reading articles about her in just about every major design magazine, I was confident she could show me how to get where I wanted to be.  Two years later, I have made major changes to my business  … and it is paying off in a big way!  Tobi put together a Mastermind “video brochure” so you could hear directly from her and some of the other designers in our group.  Having that kind of support network — across the country — is something everyone needs, and I am so blessed to call these women my colleagues and friends!

Now I can’t wait to see what 2013 will hold.  I’m already enrolled in Mastermind for the coming year, and I will continue to find other ways to learn and grow — as a woman, wife, mother, friend and mompreneur.

What will you make happen in 2013?

Thanks for sharing your quotes & thoughts. I'm also a Mom, blogger & a Mompreneur with twins. My girls turned 10 this year, it goes by so fast! I attended some multiple conferences when they were younger. We call my girls "Turtle Twins" because when they were younger someone asked them if they were identical & my daughter Audrey replied, "No, we're turtle" Fraternal is a hard word for a 4 yr. old to say & the nickname stuck. Well greetings from Utah, my husband works for a company based in Charlotte so I love visiting & spending time in your neck of the woods. Have a wonderful day!

It's a really hard job, being and mom and a business woman. I give you so much credit! I'm a Mom of 5 but my kids are grown and I didn't start a business until then. Keep inspiring! xo Sharon
