“word to the wise” wednesday: newell turner

Actually, I would argue that great rooms are works of art. While a flailing economy, political turmoil, and natural disasters around the world tend to make decorating seem more of a luxury than a necessity, we should never forget the power in every aspect of good design.  The mood of color on a wall.  The inviting feel of fabric on a sofa.  Or how the perfect pillow yields when you slouch into it.

Absolutely! It's such a tough perspective to get across, the power a space has on your emotional health and the value in honouring that... especially in times of economic strife. I'm with Luciane, this one is a keeper! Thank you Traci :-) xo Sheila

I have always said ," My home is what wraps its arms around me from the crazy chaos out in the world." To not have a lovely enviroment to live in, well, to be perfectly blunt, it would nothing more than just existing.

A haven to come home to when the world offers such craziness is what keeps me going! Great quote. Ruthie

Terrific quote Traci, I think sometimes we forget the power of a well-designed space. Thank you for sharing.
