don’t miss the big homearama sale! art, accessories and much more!
August 1st, 2015
If you haven’t been out to Charlotte HomeArama yet … why on earth not?!?!! I know I’m a bit biased, but I think this year’s tour is fantastic. All four homes are extraordinary, so major kudos to Arcadia Custom Homes (the home I designed), the Ullman Group and New Old Homes for a job very well done. The tour ends on Sunday, August 2, so time is a-ticking. My favorite part of this year’s tour is that each home reflects a different style — and that means the homes are jam-packed full of ideas for everyone!
One of my ideas? Two weeks of visitors required a double-pronged approach to flowers! Thanks to the talent of Studio Forma Florist, we had “the real deal” quite a bit … and our faux florals from NDI looked amazing day in and day out. I loovvvvvee the varying shades of green in this hydrangea, rose and calla lilly arrangement.
So here’s the best part of this blog post — a reminder that most of the furniture, art and accessories that you’ve seen at Charlotte HomeArama is For Sale! The “After the Show” Designer Sale is on Monday, August 3 from 9 am to 12 pm. Everything is first-come, first-served (and subject to prior sale) … so if you have your eye on something, act fast!
I am obsessed with Ethan Allen’s turquoise Quincy bed and the lime green Jason bedside chests. Could they be more perfect with the adorable Pine Cone Hill paintbrush sheets or the custom Euro shams from Thibaut fabric?! Ethan Allen is offering fantastic details on many of the floor samples, and — if you want to buy anything Ethan Allen — you need to call over to the Pineville showroom before they close at 5 pm on Sunday.
I am beyond grateful to Lesli DeVito for allowing me to showcase her spectacular art throughout Arcadia’s HomeArama home. What original art adds to a home simply cannot be captured in a few words. Even more incredible? She’s offering 25% off on Monday only. Ummm, do you realize that art never, and I mean never, goes on sale?!? I am speechless! But never fear, I can still type, hahahaha. Lancelot, the 30×48 acrylic on canvas shown above the fireplace mantel, is so soft and almost ethereal; it truly takes my breath away.
Don’t miss this opportunity to own pieces like Lancelot or Renegade, a 30×40 acrylic on canvas who greets visitors in the stairwell, or any of Lesli’s other remarkable pieces. Simply visit Lesli’s website to view all available pieces and to purchase. Regular prices are listed now, but the sale prices will be live on Monday. Lesli will let me know what can be picked up that day!
Interested in furniture? The sumptuous lavender leather host and hostess chairs — perfect at ends of a dining table or flanking a sideboard — are also available, as are the custom polka dot pillows and the gorgeous oversized abstract by Kerry Steele (48×60 and available through the Anne Nielson Gallery).
Let’s peek outside. I’m crazy for the white contrast piping on the navy cushions of the teak outdoor furniture, available through Firehouse Casual Living. Pillows, anyone? Leopard, chinoiserie, Greek key and tassels. I die. Those Lacefield Designs pillows are rocking it … and, yes, they are meant for the outdoors. Thank you, Lacefield Designs, for finally bringing fresh, sophisticated design to outdoor pillows. Of course, I adore green and navy … but something about the hot pink is calling my name, too!
Have I piqued your interest yet? There’s soooo very much more … and I’ve only scratched the surface of one out of four houses!! Mark your calendar for Monday at 9 am, and let me know if you have any questions. “Buy it now,” baby!
