Remember the slipcovers I added to the chairs in my breakfast room? Well, not all the chairs — just the chairs where my twinkies sit … in an effort to prolong the time until I need to reupholster the burlap. Today’s five minute fix takes that trick to an entirely new level.
Introducing chair seat covers from The Chair Apron Co.! These seat covers offer nearly the same look as the slipcovers that I’ve already used — but are made out of either laminated fabric or stain-repellant linen … for even easier care. I think I am in love.
I’m partial to the linen, and I’d love to see them offer white as an option. But wouldn’t this yellow laminated fabric be fun with my new breakfast room curtains in Lee Jofa’s Montmartre? I probably wouldn’t mix those patterns in a living room, but — with the difference in scale and considering the other design elements — I think it would work in my casual space. I understand more fabrics are debuting, so stay tuned!
Interestingly, one of my twins is way messier than the other — so technically I need only one chair apron. But these are so cheerful and happy that I just might do all of the chairs! You know, in case of a messy husband …
Who makes the majority of the mess in your house?

Slipcovers & kids is the greatest mix. One of my best design/purchases ever was to put slipcovers in the dining room. My 4 year old daughter is my little messy one. Thankfully we have an english bulldog to help her clean up.
The gal who designed these lives in Charlotte!
Oh great options! And I agree, they need to be made in white. My son makes most of the mess but then again, he is only 21 months old!
These are awesome! I have to go and check out the website. Guess who makes the biggest mess in my house? The only male.

What a cute idea…may be needing these when Will gets a little older!!
Brilliant idea and so much better than the beach towels I always used. And what a great way to use the cute prints that are available today in oilcloth and vinyl…great retro look. Going to have to try this idea!
So glad you are helping to get the word out about these! Woman with great ideas “unite”!!!
Such a great idea – I’m struggling with this right now with my 18 month old. I’m either picking the messiest foods or she is the world’s messiest eater – either way our chairs are taking a beating. I’ll have to check these out further.
