you spent what?

You guessed it. My frugal friend – from last week’s post on the search for a Chiang Mai Dragon lookalike – has another project.

Campaign Dresser Before

Holy hideous.  That is, until Claire got her hardworking hands on that campaign dresser and turned it into this peacock blue beauty.

Claire's Campaign Dresser

Isn’t the color fab?  Oh, and she bought it for ten dollars.  Aren’t you jealous?  I am!   Oh, and not only does Claire find the most amazing deals on Craigslist, she also owns the business Tutus for Toddlers.  Her tutus are beyond adorable and make the best gifts for little girls.  (One of my little buddies just got invited to a birthday party for a precious friend, and I think I know what’s she’s getting!!  I’m fairly certain she’ll like it better than whatever Henry would choose.)

But back to the topic at hand.  Personally, I think Claire could have a career finding hidden gems on Craigslist and refinishing them.  Check out these amazing chairs that she sent my way …

Anna's Craigslist Chairs Before Closeup

A client of mine bought them … and I would have if she didn’t!  I’m actually feeling remorseful that we didn’t get the table as well.  The chairs are vintage Stanley, and I’m guessing the table is as well.  Isn’t the detail on the apron beautiful?  We will be painting the chairs Benjamin Moore OC-17, White Dove, and then glazing them.  The trick is to wipe almost all of the glaze off so that the chairs don’t look dirty … but that there is just enough glaze to show off the carved details.  We’ll be pairing these chairs with a custom table from Barnwood Classics and host chairs from Ethan Allen.  I cannot even tell you how excited I am about this room!

Have you found a steal on Craigslist?
